Global CSS & JS for Jira adds a Javascript Syntax Validator to the Javascript field. With the Syntax validator you can check if your code contains the right syntax directly in the edit field in Jira reducing the chances of adding faulty code to your Jira environment.

Using the Javascript Syntax Validator

The Syntax Validator is located abelow the Javascript field and can be run at any time you wish.



Example 1: Undeclared variables

When you try to run the example code below which has not declared the variable "c" properly.



You'll get an error informing that "c" is not definied correctly.



Example 2: Incorrect closing of <style> tags

When you try to run the example code below in which the script tag is not closed correctly.



You'll get and error informing you that not all <script> tags have been closed correctly.



Example 3: Correct syntax

When you try to run the example code below which has correct syntax.



You'll see a succes check besides the "Check JS Syntax" button.
